Efficiency is important to many drivers, and both the Nissan and Kia help you save money by going further on less fuel. However, the Altima wins out with a better combined fuel economy at 32 MPG as compared to 27 MPG with the Optima. Out on the highway, the difference is even more noticeable with 39 highway MPG for the Nissan and only 33 MPG for the Kia.
Both the Nissan and Kia models offer advanced technology even on the base trims. They stack up evenly in most areas, but the Altima includes satellite radio on the base trim, which isnāt available on the base model for the Optima. Have your car warmed up and ready to go if you choose the Altima, which comes with remote start on the base trim. This feature isnāt available on the base Kia or even the higher trim levels. Upgrade to the higher trim levels, and you will notice a few other differences. For instance, a programmable garage door opener is available on the Optima but itās standard on the Altima. Stolen vehicle tracking is also standard on the highest trim for the Altima but not available on the Optima.
Relax inside either the Altima or Optima for a comfortable ride. Both models offer a spacious cabin with the latest amenities. However, the Altima includes an eight-way power driver seat on the base trim, while the Optima has a six-way manual driver seat. Safety is important for both models, but the Altima goes a step further with knee protection airbags for the front passenger and not just the driver as found in the Optima.
Both the Nissan and Kia models are designed with the driverās everyday life in mind. Little touches make trips more enjoyable and convenient. However, the Nissan gives you just a little more on the base model, such as one-touch up and down windows for both the driver and passenger. The Optima includes one touch down for the driver. The Altima also features cargo tie downs to keep your stuff in place while they arenāt available with the Optima base trim.
You canāt go wrong with either the Altima or Optima if youāre looking for a sedan with solid features and performance. However, you get a little more for the money with the Altima, especially if you want to stick with the base trim. See what it has to offer at Premiere Nissan.
