Performance
One of the first things you’ll notice about the two SUV’s is the difference in power. While the Ford Edge provides the typical four-cylinder engine at the base trim, the 2020 Nissan Murano starts out with a 3.5L V6 engine. Surprisingly, the Nissan’s larger engine doesn’t mean lower gas mileage, and it competes quite well with the I-4 on the Edge; however, it’s the more dominant competitor when it comes to power with 260 horsepower over the 250 horsepower for the Ford model. The Murano also features a slightly larger fuel tank at 19.0 gallons capacity compared to the 18.4 gallons of the Edge. With a slightly smaller turning diameter at 38.7 feet, the Murano is easier to maneuver over the Edge at 39.3 feet.
Entertainment
Both the Ford Edge and 2020 Nissan Murano include satellite radio with six speakers to keep everyone entertained. Only the Murano features high-definition and includes a CD player, MP3 capability, and auxiliary port as standard. Both the Nissan and Ford models include Android Auto and Apple CarPlay to make it easy to connect your smartphone to the vehicle. Ford and Nissan allow you to connect with Amazon Alexa when you’re on the go and to use your smartphone for remote access when away from your vehicle. However, Nissan also lets you work with Google Assistant as well to ensure safe driving habits.
Practical Convenience
Both SUV’s are designed to keep your passengers content and to provide convenience for busy lives. Keyless start is found on both the 2020 Nissan Murano and Ford Edge along with a universal remote for garage door and other systems. Both models also come with heated mirrors for the top trim and one-touch power windows. A bonus on the Murano is the reverse tilt mirrors to allow for a view of the curb when you’re backing up, setting it above the Edge.
Premium Comfort
Both models include a leather steering wheel, but only the 2020 Nissan Murano features a heated steering wheel for the top trim level as standard. Stay warm in cold weather with heated front seats on both models. To keep your cool in the summer, you’ll have to rely on the Murano with cooled front seats. Rear passengers will also appreciate the multi-level heating for the ideal temperature.
